What about kids? Children Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

Naturally, the privacy and safety of children are essential to us. Children should always ask parents for permission before sending personal information to any website or online service. Parents, please keep in mind that the personal information we gather from children is strictly used for educational purposes, or for any purposes specifically described when the information is collected. We will not contact or send any direct mailings to persons who indicate they are under 16 without first obtaining their parents’ permission.

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which dictates what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.
